How Do You Transfer Your Bookmarks From One PC to Another on Chrome and firefox

Instructions

  1. Export Chrome Bookmarks

    • 1
      Open a Chrome browser window.

      Click the wrench icon at the top-right corner of the window and select "Bookmark manager."

      Click the "Organize" button at the top-left corner of the resulting tab and select "Export bookmarks."
    • 4
      Give the bookmarks file a name, select the folder where you want the file saved and then click "Save."
    • 5
      Transfer your bookmarks from your current PC to the new computer. You can send them over the Internet using email or instant messaging, or physically transfer them by way of a CD, DVD, USB drive or floppy disk.

    Import Chrome Bookmarks

      Place the bookmarks file created by your previous computer on the desktop of your new PC.

      Open a Chrome browser window.
    • 8
      Click the wrench icon at the top-right corner of the window and select "Bookmark manager."

      Click the "Organize" button at the top-left corner of the resulting tab and select "Import bookmarks."

      Navigate to the desktop within the dialog box that follows and then double-click the icon of the bookmarks file. The saved links you exported from your old PC are imported into the new installation of Chrome immediately.

      Open Firefox and click on "Bookmarks" in the menu bar. Select "Organize Bookmarks."

      Click on "Import and Backup." Select "Backup."

      Navigate to the directory where you'd like to save the backed-up file. Firefox selects the desktop by default.

      Enter a name for the saved file such as "Bookmarks," or keep the default name.

      Copy the bookmarks backup to removable media (USB drive, external hard drive, CD/DVD).

      Insert the media into the second computer.

      Open Firefox on the second computer.

      Click on "Import and Backup." Select "Restore" and choose "Choose file."

      Navigate to the backedup bookmarks file and select it. Click "Open."

      Click "OK" to replace your current bookmarks.

    Internet Explorer

      Open Internet Explorer and click on "File" in the menu bar. Select "Import and Export."

      Choose "Export to a file" and select "Next."

      Click on "Favorites" and choose "Next."

      Click "Browse" to navigate to the directory where you wish to save the backup. Enter a name for the file, then click on "Save."

Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup - Export HTML... - to a USB stick
then on the new PC:
Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup - Import HTML... - from file on that USB stick
